Figure Drawing instructor (April 2016 - August 2016)

  • contracted to plan, organize and execute five week intensive course on figure drawing

  • ccourse guideline included terminology, pictoral examples as sequential learning tools to help students understand and retain knowledge

  • provided personal materials and a supply list to students

  • found, coordinated and oriented volunteer models to act as drawing subjects

  • encouraged and directed students one-to-one to personalize each persons education and experience, resulting in a sage and comfortable atmosphere, increased condience and by extension, improved technical skills and outcomes

Private Companion McKenzie Towne Seniors Home (2015-present)

 

  • Facilitated and encouraged expression, independence, and flexibility while an elderly Jamaican woman, living wheelchair-bound since her last stroke in an assisted living facility.

  • Accommodating her interests includes: music, dancing, singing, praying, shopping, storytelling, pen-pals, activities, telephone skill development, current events, R.O.M exercises, spatial /interpersonal intelligence exercises, assisting HCA’s with ADL’s and organizing handi-bus trips.

VinGogh (September 2015- present)

  • Teaching step by step painting to groups of adults

  • Creating artworks and corresponding step-by-step instructions to be taught by other facilitators

  • give one-to-one assistance to audience members and assist the art-facilitator

Young Rembrandts (July 2015- present)

  • 5-8 week afterschool programs, at varying community centers, daycares and schools around Calgary.

  • Delivering organized, engaging, structured drawing classes to groups of children 3-12 years old.

  • Classes were one hour in duration, not including clean up, set up and transportation and had 4-18 students registered.

  • Child care, communication and time management skills were integral aspects to this job.

Private Art Companion (May 2015 - present)

  • Continued the art practise of a retired artist diagnosed with Dementia. Flexibility and adaptability became integral to continuing his creative outlet.

  • Guidance and structure increased, project sizes, duration and materials were tailored to suit his shorter attention span, increased confusion, and new assisted living accommodations.

  • offered direction and discussion when artist was stuck

  • offered tips and tricks to help keep artist on task and efficient

  • artist went from never getting any paint on the canvas, to being able to get himself set up and settled on his own

Kumon Learning Center (June 4th, 2015- present)

  • Marked homework, and go through homework one-to-one with children

  • Tutored one-to-one / one-to-two children aged 3-12 years old.

  • Gained experience and knowledge on working with children with varying learning disabilities (ADHD, ADD, autism, ESL).

  • Encouraged safe and healthy learning habits. Communication skills greatly enriched by the relationships built with the children, parents/family.

  • Helped over 20 students to read, write, add/subtract and love learning/studying.

  • Taught a variety of art classes including drawing, painting and sculpture

  • Helped feed, clean, clothe, educate, and entertain a range of children in an orphanage in Kumasi, Ghana, from new born babies to forty year old adults with varying mental and physical abilities.
